I think a good idea is to explain that legal docs can't be mispelled and why. Explaining that will let other readers/people understand that it's not overlooked and forgiven just because whomever typed it up might not have English as a first language. It's not overlooked because it's just a small typo. It has to be correct and it has to be the person's legal full name.
IF a document, say a warant for someone's arrest was to have a misspelled name on it then there is a chance that law enforcement could show up at the wrong persons house. The wrong person could get in trouble.
Another example?
The difference between Michael Joseph Jackson and Michael Joe Jackson
Michael Joe Jackson was used on the 2003 court case. That is MJ's full legal name. YET his death certificate uses Michael Joseph Jackson.
So you must have it spelled right and worded right and use the LEGAL name. ELSE it's moot, not binding, and isn't legal at all.
